1980s Yves Saint Laurent Striped Denim Suit

diamante's on prospect The accompanying music to this little two piece is Edith Piaf singing, "Paris Je T'aime". What looks like a tribute to America is really an absolute homage to Parisian style but isn't that what Yves Saint Laurent was all about? Crisp red cotton denim with deep navy and white pinstripes has the perfect hourglass figure all on its own and is from one of the more clever ateliers in fashion - pret-a-porter Rive Gauche. A notched shawl collar with elbow length sleeves adorned with strap and button detail. Flap hip pockets, which are still basted shut, balance the arm beautifully. Side buttoning skirt has deep deep pockets and a straight hem. Black patent pumps with a matching handbag (vintage Ferragamo would be oh so nice) and oodles of gold chains at the neck keep singing, "Je t'aime, je t'aime!!". Bust measures 35", shoulder to shoulder 15.5", outer sleeve 14" and length 27". Skirt has a 24" waist, 36" hips and length 26". Both pieces are in utterly flawless condition. sold
