1970s Willi Wear Brown Check Peasant Top

spotlight Willi Smith was one of the most unpretentious, wearable designers of his day. From his homespun Indian cotton separates to the collaborations with graffiti writers Futura, Zephyr and Dondi in the 80s, he captured youth but kept its innocence. His world wasn't of clubs and coke, it was those yummy fruit-flavored shampoos of the 70s. Rinsing your hair with fresh lemon juice and buying your makeup at i-Natural. Willi's windowpane check in slubbed cotton, to wear with skinny summer pants and leather thongs. Slim through the body, the fuil sleeves button at the wrist and the collarless neckline closes with a loop and button. The wonderful label features a cartoon of Willi and this is the one of the earliest Willi Wear solo labels. Bust measures 38", shoulder to shoulder 16.6", outer sleeve 23.5" and length 23". Excellent condition. $140.00
