1960s Emanuel Ungaro Belted Velvet Coat

spotlight We'd like to believe that when Emanuel Ungaro left Courreges to open his own house that he took a few Courreges-clad cheerleaders with him, wearing daisy-shaped pasties and Venetian blind sunglasses. They'd stand to the side and cheer for Emanuel, the lead cheerleader shouting, "How do you spell hip?" and the girls rolled their arms with invisible pom-poms shaking, spelling out "U-N-G-A-R-O". Vintage Ungaro has a lot of the same vibe of Courreges but is more youthful, believe it or not. That same healthy, comfortable in your skin attitude. A cinnamon cotton velvet coat with spread collar and fabulous enameled buttons along the placket and buttoned wrists. Decorative seams and matching sash belt with a brown crepe lining, we love this with a [air of non-special jeans (why pay a ton for something like jeans?) and a slightly sheer Missoni sweater. Bust up to 40", shoulder to shoulder 15", outer sleeve 23" and length 41". Excellent condition. sold
