1980s Emanuel Ungaro Floral Silk Tunic

spotlight A former student of Courreges, Ungaro's flavor was distinctly that of his mentor in the late 60s. But as Leonardo da Vinci said, "Poor is the pupil who does not surpass his master.". Now, we all know that only Courreges can do Courreges, which is why Emanuel Ungaro was such a wise student - he evolved. Leaving behind the tie dye wool coats (which are to die for), Ungaro went on to define his house with pieces that were tailored but insanely feminine. This black silk blouse is blooming with sprays of pastel mums with brushstrokes clearly defined as though this were an oil painting. Ruched over one hip, there is a hidden zipper under there to ensure a snug fit and the nape fastens with a loop and button closure. Sexy with a vintage Sant'Angelo tube skirt and totally unexpected with a long Yohji Yamamoto wool wrap skirt. Made for his Parallele line, the bust measures 34", shoulder to shoulder 15.5", outer sleeve 23" and length 31". Excellent condition. $180.00
