1970s Roberta di Camerino Trompe L'Oeil Velvet Coat

spotlight Certain coats have different vibes; you've got the Norma Kamali sleeping bag coat, which is really the vegetarian/coke whore version of the fur stroller. The Danefae rain slicker. The classic pea coat. The Hermes trench. The Gucci suede coat with GG buttons (nice!) and the Roberta di Camerino printed velvet coat. This is not the kind of coat you wear for a stealth trip to the market - you thought your Baggu bags made people want to look at you? Ha! This is, as Paul and Prue would say, a showstopper. All them beeyotches in their North Face down jackets and baseball hats wth rhinestones will hate you for this. They'll hate you for your cojones and obvious cashflow. Want to be one of the girls who hides behind an outfit that every other woman wears or do you want to say "Yoo hooo, over here!"? You pick. If a hip length coat from Ann Taylor sounds good to you, please step away from the computer now. If you wear YSL cage boots with vintage Levi's rolled up, stick with us. Giuliana Coen's fricking fantastic chainlink coat in the most supple of all cotton velvets. Buckled buckle belt with belted R logo buttons all over the place, it is brilliant clear cherry-red with navy and green lowlights. Lined entirely in R silk crepe de chine, there are deep, cuffed patch pockets over each hp, belted wrists and a pointed yoke in back. Bust measures 32", shoulder to shoulder 15", outer sleeve 22.5" and total length 42.5". Also bears a date label stating 1977. Excellent, if not flawless, condition. on ebay
