1960s Irene Red Wool Flannel Suit

civilized 2020 was so traumatic that it left us with linguistic scars - words we used to utter without thought that now conjure political divisiveness. Like the word 'civilized'. A big screw you to Congress, we are reclaiming the word civilized. A word that brings to mind order and polish. Something tidy and simple. As easy as a dress but with a little more versatility, Irene's civilized red wool flannel suit has a hidden button placket that is betrayed only by one giant matte red button at the neck. Lined in peach silk crepe (her linings were always lovely contrasts), the sleeves are cropped and wide, as is the silhouette of the jacket. High-waisted, unlined skirt, we would pair this with a slice of baby blue underneath. Also bears a Stix, Baer and Fuller (shout out, St. Louis), the jacket has a 38" bust, dropped shoulder to shoulder 15.5", outer sleeve 19" and length 16/5". Skirt has a 25" waist, hips 36" and length 27". Excellent, civilized, condition. $305.00
