1960s Red Wool Boucle Suit

overblown houndstooth A larger-than-life houndstooth in chunky boucle yarn to wear together or separate. It wasn't until the Chanel suit that women dared to tear a suit apart and wear each piece on its own but now we don't even think twice about it. Black, white and red, lined in black crepe and fastening with a row of shiny black buttons at the double-breasted placket, the silhouette is cropped jacket/bracelet sleeve/slightly tulip skirt to the knee. The skirt has hidden pockets over each hipbone, we love this with a very fine chartreuse cashmere crewneck and Repetto "Camille" pumps heels, any decade will do. Bearing a Saks Fifth Avenue label only, the jacket bust measures 34", shoulder to shoulder 16", outer sleeve 21" and length 15.5". Skirt ha a 25" waist and is 21" long. Excellent condition. $370.00
