1960s Pitiquito Leather Halter Dress

a total skin dress Remember the days when you didn't have access to anything and everything on your laptop? You actually had to leave the house to get anything. And then for some, you actually had to leave the country to get anything because your cool threshold was so high that local couldn't cut it. A dress wasn't just a dress but a tactile reminder of the time you upped and went to Mexico on a whim with nothing but a pair of clean underwear and $5,000 cash. Yup, long before etsy, you had to really look hard for the most obscure things. Often paired with the North Beach Leather brand, the Pitiquito craftspeople of Sonora, Mexico were known for their whipstitched leather pieces - which then became synonymous with San Francisco's North Beach and Woodstock. A leather halter dress made by Pieles Pitic (which is still open) that's just one of those things where most women need a stylist to figure out how to pull it off. We're really talking to the girl who already knows this is her thing without hesitation. Tobacco-hued and flared at the hem, it ties at the nape of the neck and again at the back with a corseted placket. Gorgeous with Ulla JOhnson flatforms, it is sized for a modern 4 or flat-chested 6. Length 43". Excellent, if not flawless, condition with small scars inherent to the leather source a.k.a the cow. on ebay
