The Roxy was a fabulous thing in the 80s. White girls and Puerto Rican guys - Rene Ricard and Madonna (both going after Puerto Rican guys) and every edgy hip hop early adopter you could think of drank kamikazes and smoked blunts together. And everyone wore belts that sported either their graffiti name or the name of their crew around their waist. After waking with a vicious hangover, you'd go down to Delancey and have your own made. Madonna made them famous with her "Boy Toy" version and Franco Moschino made them high style when he took them mainstream. A 1" stroke of black leather that wraps with gilded charms that slide back and forth, spelling Moschino (that's pronounced Moh-skee-noh). The M and the last O are fixed in place so you don't lose any letters. Fabulous over stretch black jeans and an oversized Sprouse neon shirt, that's the kind of 80s that's still fun to relive. Sized for a 26" to 28" waist, some of the charms have chips on top. $130.00 |
