1980s Missoni Floral Knit Suit

spotlight Missoni is yet another of those companies that produces unmistakable designs of gorgeous fabric. Starting as a husband and wife duo, Missoni has been known for its knits for almost 70 years. But one can see the transition from Rosita to daughter, Angela, in their now signature florals. While still passing as a suit, it has that wild 70s air that makes a suit not a suit and makes it, well, something a little more rock and roll. You can break up the pieces and wear the jacket with a long silk jersey slinky skirt and pink tube top or you can wear the skirt with a chunky ribbed cotton turtleneck. A hip rose print in shades of chartreuse, magenta and emerald, in a springy rayon acetate blend. Classic wide pointed collar and one jumbo Lucite button at the navel. The skirt has a wide elasticized waistband that will lay smoothly against your tummy and once you slip into this pair, you'll almost forget you're wearing clothes - the fabric is liberating. Made for Neiman-Marcus (back when they still hyphenated their name), the bust measures 36", shoulder to shoulder 16.5", outer sleeve 24.5" and length 26". Skirt has a 29" waist and is 26" long. Both pieces are in excellent condition. $330.00
