Back in the 50s and 60s, women didn't shovel snow unless they lived on a farm. And while some still don't, the ideas of culture and fashion, and how those clothes fit into our lives today, fascinates us. The today woman isn't always saddled with a man around the house and doesn't pay a landscaper to shovel her driveway so things gotta get done with woman power. Sure, you can put on a Patagonia down sweater and Coal beanie but wouldn't it make a much better story to say you were out there in a YSL pea coat and mink beehive, clearing the front walk? And even if nobody you know sees you, your neighbors will and that's worth a lot. Also smashing while not doing winter work, an Irene of NY mink beehive is just fun. Lined in gold lame, it is 8.5" high and will fit up to a 21" head. Excellent condition. $140.00 |
