1970s Koos van den Akker Patchwork Chiffon Blouse

a collage Koos van den Akker's style was referred to as collage but that understates the skill with which he combined pattern and color. Maybe the predecessor who paved the way for a Dries Van Noten, Koos personifies that lack of self-consciousness that little girls have when they throw together plaid and polka dots. So many women cannot recapture that knack once it has been drummed out of them but it's something you want to nurture. A blousy sheer synthetic chiffon, edged on the front lattice panel with metallic gold. Blousy sleeves that come in close at the wrist to echo the waist, the colors are mostly plum and teal with shots of blue and lilac. Open neckline, the bust measures 34", shoulder to shoulder 15", outer sleeve 25" and length 22". Excellent condition. $260.00
