1970s Donna Karan Stretch Boucle Suit

spotlight The 70s were were about making menswear for women. Think Diane Keaton in 'Annie Hall' and you'll understand what we mean. So when Donna Karan went out on her own with her curvy, feminine clothing in the 80's - the world was waiting with open arms. She made miniskirts that were approprate for women in their 50s, pairing them with monochromatic ensembles of tights, wraps, bodysuits and jackets. It was Donna who made it okay to be a woman again. When comfort is as important as style, she will also be the one you turn to again and again. A black wool boucle suit that is springy as jersey with a lot more body and weight. A wrap jacket that buttons at the side with a single matte gold Robert Lee Morris button, it falls in swags at the waist. A rounded shawl collar and built-in hourglass shape make this perfect for any figure - at any age. The skirt comes to right above the knee and has a wide, smooth waistband above a swagged front with hidden pockets. We love this with a sheer Calvin Klein blouse and a Robert Lee Morris toursade at the throat. Lined in black silk crepe de Chine through the sleeves and skirt only, the bust measures up to 38", shoulder to shoulder 16.5", outer sleeve 26" and length 25.5". Skirt has a 30" waist, 38" hips and is 27" long. Both pieces are in excellent condition. $795.00
