1970s Jean-Charles de Castelbajac Hooded Wool Dress

leather and wool For anyone that has been following enokiworld, you know that Castelbajac is one of our favorite designers. His no bullshit approach to fashion has always been a crystalline refresher to a jaded old palate sullied by boring mainstream trends and fussy details. He is all about dressing women who move - not a woman as a mannequin. His dresses and coats look vivid and smart on so many different kinds of women; the 70-year-old intellect who has always been attracted to Issey Miyake. The 30-year-old who loves short Alaia dresses and YSL platform stilettos. The 45-year-old who refuses to wear jeans with a 5" rise. His look encompasses an interesting mix of oversized and formfitting - comic and staid. A cream wool flannel dress trimmed in toffee leather, it is urban and edgy without being intellectually pretentious. A giant pocket on the front of the dress is accessed from both sides with a discreet zippered pocket underneath that. His signature zip-out hood lies flat as a yoke when you don't want to have it up on your head and the wide sleeves lend themselves to making this dress totally layerable with a turtleneck and Los Angeles Apparel leggings underneath. Bust and hips up to 38", outer sleeve 23" and length 48". Excellent condition. $595.00
