1970s Halston Long Silk Jersey Shirtdress

blue silk jersey Minimalism didn't really wrap its grubby little hands around fashion's throat until Calvin Klein and Zack Carr came along and made it de rigeur in the 1990's. Maybe a wisp here and there in the 1920s and 1930s and then radio silence until Halston came along. But Halston wasn't the organic sort of staid that Calvin was - Halston was lowkey glam. Halston was excess and nothing all at the same time. It was tailored -and- unstructured. It was sequins and cleavage. It was a polo shirt that hugged your body all the way to the ankle in cobalt blue silk jersey. Unbutton it as high as you like, it is also made so you can't button it up - autoexposure. Wide spear collar and double button wrist cuffs, there is no hiding in this, despite the drap. Bust measures 36", shoulder to shoulder 15.5", outer sleeve 26", hips 36" and length 59". Excellent condition with the exception of a shadow along the side seam at knee level - you have to be inspecting it to see it. $445.00
