Nobody is telling you to dig out a ten-pound Norell wool dress from your closet to take the trash out only to come back inside but there are things you can do and wear to get through without feeling like a total frump. Shower regularly. Put down the sweatpants with paint on them. Mascara is nice. Something that would have been called "oriental" in its day, Givenchy lounging pajamas in a synthetthic silk charmeuse that makes Soft Surroundings feel like sandpaper. What a perfect way to make the effort without being all dressed up with no place to go. Pale lilac with lavender and pink stripes and wide borders of pink and teal flowers. Kimono-inspired, the cropped-sleeve top slips over the head and is slit to the waist on both sides.
