Maybe Rudi Gernreich was the original Betsey Johnson. The Betsey we know now. A designer with a dancer's sensibility, not making restrictive clothing or a catalog solely of body-con pieces, there was a playful freedom in Gernreich's work that muse Peggy Moffitt personified. A tiny brown and black check wool in a classic trapeze shape. Wear with cropped leggings, tights or bare legs, this silhouette always looks fantastic with platform loafers. Like, high platforms.
