If you think vintage Coach and modern Coach are pretty much the same, think again. The leather on modern Coach bags is a lot thicker - like the skin on your heels. Hey, if you walk on hot coals for a living - or, say, crushed glass, thick skin is a good thing but it doesn't make for a very graceful bag. We like to think it had something to do with the exacting standards Bonnie Cashin demanded because we all know Cashin took a baseball glove company and turned it into a serious accessories house. Navy front flap design is one of the most distinctive vintage Coach designs - designed by Ms. Cashin herself before the company started giving her equal billing. Buckles facing forward, above the body of the bag, and a dual compartmented interior - this is unlined and bears the tiny black metal Coach tag (the right tag if you're looking for the right vintage). Measures 10.75" wide by 10.5" high with a single adjustable 10.5" to 17" strap. Excellent condition. sold |
