1960s Bonnie Cashin Sand Leather Suit

sills and co No, it was not North Beach Leather that made colored leather uptown, it was Bonnie Cashin. While other designers dabbled in a few leather pieces, Cashin blew it completely out of the water. In hues from chartreuse to tangerine, leather became as acceptable as wool or cotton in Bonnie's world. But she also always paid homage to nature in either her choice of textiles and weaves or use of organic color, like mushroom and sand. And her sand leather was the exact color of beach sand. A leather suit for Sills with a collarless jacket and flared skirt, tied at the waist with a skinny leather belt. Both pieces lined in sand silk crepe, the jacket has wide kimono sleeves and hidden pockets inseam. Hidden prong closures, both pieces are fantastic together or versatile when split up. Also has a Skuhra Fashions label in Kenosha. Shows you how far her reach was and popular her clothes were. Bust up to 40", shoulder to shoulder 17", outer sleeve 21" and length 28". Skirt has a 31" waist and is 22.5" long. Both are in excellent condition with the belt being a little lighter than the suit. $505.00
