1960s Bonnie Cashin Geometric Wool Coat

spotlight Unless you are an absolute princess who does nothing for herself, you can't help but love and -respect- Bonnie Cashin's work. How many times have you stood there and buttoned up a coat for wayyyy too long because of its fussy buttonholes? How many times have you had to use two hands to undo a button? How many times have you had to put your handbag down on the floor or a counter so you could fuss with your clothes? It is such a part of our physicality as women that we don't even realize what slaves to inconvenience we are. Even the most badass Patagonia down coat is a full-on operation. It gets old. It wants old. It wants vintage Bonnie Cashin. A gorgeous red and lilac twill weave in wool, trimmed in red suede that has a vertical line of signature turnlock closures that need only one hand, on and off. Style -and- function. Gilded belt "loops" on both side seams to cradle a skinny suede shoestring tie belt and a collar that is backed in red suede so it stays up or down as you wish. Big pockets (another total Bonnie standard), the weave lines up flawlessly on both sides. No accident. Unlined, made for Sills, the bust measures up to 38", shoulder to shoulder 15.5", outer sleeve 21.5" and length 42". Excellent condition. $805.00
