1960s Bonnie Cashin Wide Sleeve Coat

bonnie cashin sills WAY ahead of her time, Bonnie Cashin can be understood as a woman through her clothes. This was not the clingy little Burt Bacharach character in the song "Wives and Lovers", worried about fixing her hair and putting on her makeup because the man was going to be home soon. Nope, Bonnie was doing it herself and happy about it. Her coats can usually be done and undone with one hand and her textiles were inspired by organic constructions like bird's nests. A woven linen coat with wide, cropped sleeves that falls from a leather yoke with oversized hook clasp. Pockets lined in sand silk crepe, this is gorgeous over anything with long, fitted sleeves and a neck that can peek out at the top and arm. Made for Sills, this also bears a Marshall Field and Company label. This will fit everyone from a 4 to 10 and is 34" long. Excellent conditon. $640.00
