1950s Pringle Cashmere Cardigan with Mink

black and white Forget your Christmas sweater - if you want to be funny, tell a joke, don't dress like a clown. Consider something a little more serious but still cute AF. A black Pringle cashmere cardigan with a white mink shawl collar and aurora borealis details at the solitary waist closure and cuffed wrists. Lined in black lace, the mink comes off so you can clean it. May seem standard to you but you'd be surprised how infrequently clothes were cleaned before Courreges, who was so disgusted by the practice that he designed entirely white collections that made it so you couldn't do that anymore. All of these mink-collared cardigans are "after market" pieces, tricked out by seamstresses and tailors. The quality of the cardigan and collar varies and you can still feel the original button placket underneath the lining. It was a cult thing. To wear with cropped shantung cigarette pants and kitten heels, these are always well-loved for good reason. Bust 36", shoulder to shoulder 16", outer sleeve 23" and length 21". sold
