1970s Stephen Burrows Long Jersey Dress

slinky The coolest of the 60s was epitomized by the work of Pierre Cardin and Courreges but was all sort of still, well, structured. When we got to the early 70s, young designers were sort of what AOC is to Congress now - a fresh, young mindset. Yeah yeah, tradition is great but they were thinking differently, for a different body type that was au courant. The Cher body type. The Pat Cleveland body type. Stephen Burrows was all that - he was young, his approcach to fabric was fresh and his construction was pure and simple. No linings, shoulders, zippers. It was about who was wearing it, not -how- they were wearing it. An ankle length coral pink nylon jersey dress with signature "lettuce" edging and two long ties that can be wrapped or left long in front to move as you do. Stephen Burrows World label, the bust measures 32 and length 53". Excellent condition. $515.00
