1970s Donald Brooks Plaid Mohair Coat

spotlight Sometimes we feel frustrated over the press attention certain designers, like Pucci and Gucci, get while other designers remain in the background, never seeing the sort of mainstream attention we strongly feel they deserve. But in the vintage world, amongst weekenders and cognoscenti alike, Donald Brooks has a solid reputation for being a designer of beautiful clothing that stands up to the test of time. His career spans from 60s mod to 1980s Dominique Devoreaux on Dynasty and all his pieces are wonderful. This plaid mohair coat looks great with Michael Kors pleated trousers and Prada kiltie pumps (we give you permission to wear shoes from three seasons ago, okay?), it boasts turquoise, cherry red, charcoal and white under all that fabulous fuzz. Stand-up band collar and a row of small, matte black buttons that stop right at the waist, it belts with a matching sash belt and is lined in black satin. Bust measures 41", shoulder to shoulder 16.5", outer sleeve 24.5" and total length 49". Excellent condition. $310.00
