1950s Elizabeth Arden Silk Damask Ballgown

old school glamour You know where you are going. You know who is going to be there and you know you want to have the most dramatic dress in the room. A pale sea blue satin gown with a purple damask overskirt in heavy silk satin. Gorgeous, strapless, rich. And it's funny that for most younger women, you know Elizabeth Arden as a skin care line but it used to be this ridiculously chic and private little "club" of a store where treated you as the luxe queen you were. Doorman, treatments and the highest-end clothes. Manicure and a ballgown? Elizabth Arden's red doors were your destination. This only still has the Elizabeth Arden label, you can bet it was a French designer. The pleated bodice is separated from the long skirt by a black pleated cummerbund with a big silk flower. The interior is boned and has a separate zippered structure. Bust 32", waist 26" and length from bust to hem 51". There is a matching stole in the purple fabric. It is very good to excellent condition. No real flaws, just needs to be carefully dry cleaned and pressed. Madame Paulette does excellent work and we are going to price it so you can have a couture piece at a pret-a-porter price. $520.00
