Nobody has done more to bring back the quality of the couturier's atelier than Christian Lacroix. Even in his ready-to-wear lines, there is something oh so Parisian and feminine about the sleeve, or the waist on a jacket. Or could it be the explosion of brilliant color and print? You can't say one thing or the other but Lacroix has a look like no other. Using his trademark pouf at the sleeve (to which Calvin Klein responded in the 80s, "I couldn't make a pouf if you held a gun to my head."), this cotton and acrylic plisse suit will turn even a female prison warden into a coquette. Grass green with white polka dots and fuchsia buttons, it has a waist - what a waist, and it has sculpted sleeves that are just amazing. All this with a pair of most fabulous rosebud pants with wide legs in a contrasting textured plisse. This needs no blouse but a pair of white cat-eye sunglasses, a pair of magenta Christian Louboutin pumps, with red soles, and a perfectly compact and delightful Lulu Guiness handbag. Created exclusively for Bergdorf Goodman's mid-level Lacroix line, "luxe", the bust measures 35", shoulder to shoulder 15", waist 26" and length 22". Pants have a wide waistband that fastens on the side measuring at 28" with a 30" inseam. Both are lined in white crepe de Chine and are in flawless condition. $505.00 |
